Ilkka Toijala Head of Heating and Cooling, Finland, Fortum Oyj
Ilkka Toijala leads the development of large scale waste heat utilization in district heat production in Fortum Power and Heat Oy. Fortum intends to replace the current coal and gas fired production and provide carbon neutral district heating to its customers by the end of 2020’s.
Ilkka has more than 30 years of experience in the energy business, including leading the Finnish district heating business of Fortum. Most of his career Ilkka has worked in international business assignments abroad.
